Changzhou Metro's first line officially opened in 2019, making Changzhou the fourth city in Jiangsu Province to launch a metro system. Currently, the metro network comprises two operational lines - Line 1 and Line 2, with a total length of approximately 54 kilometers and 43 stations in service.

The intelligent contactless rail transit payment system, jointly developed by SenseTime, China Construction Bank, and Octopus Technologies - a leading mobile payment provider in rail transit, has been officially launched on Changzhou Metro Lines 1 and 2 in Jiangsu Province.

Leveraging SenseTime's advanced AI platform and deep learning algorithms, the system enables ultra-high-speed, ultra-high-precision recognition to deliver payment-grade contactless, barrier-free gate access.

Changzhou Metro's contactless payment system has been fully deployed across all 43 stations and 176 gate channels, making Changzhou Metro the first in the Yangtze River Delta region to implement facial recognition-based fare collection. This smart solution delivers efficient and seamless travel experiences for passengers.

The entire process - from data capture and analysis to verification, payment processing, and ticketing platform integration - is completed within 400 milliseconds, ensuring completely imperceptible delays during gate passage. With an ultra-low false acceptance rate of less than one in a million, the system meets the most stringent payment security standards. Advanced liveness detection technology effectively prevents fraud attempts like spoofing or proxy usage.

During the pandemic, system upgrades enabled mask-wearing passengers to pass through gates seamlessly, significantly enhancing travel safety across deployed cities.
